This week in spelling we focused on the homophones “there, they’re and their“. First, we watched this entertaining clip:
The line ‘But Sir, aren’t these all the same words?‘ made everyone laugh… It is true though that often children don’t have a concept of the fact that these three words have completely different meanings (let alone spellings!).
The children’s task was to create comics on the iPads that would feature all three words, used in the appropriate context and spelled correctly. You can view a few of the comic pages in the presentation below:
